Located in Wagir Lor Village, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency, Tirta Husada offers natural sulfur hot spring pools believed to help treat various skin conditions, rheumatism, and joint pain.
Beyond its health benefits, soaking in the warm water is also a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The area is surrounded by lush green rice fields, providing a serene and refreshing natural atmosphere. There are also food stalls around the site offering a variety of traditional snacks and warm beverages.
How to Get There
To reach Tirta Husada, from the entrance of Telaga Ngebel, simply turn right (south) toward the Ngebel–Pucuk main road. Although the road is relatively narrow with some steep climbs and descents, the route is still accessible and not too difficult to navigate. After traveling approximately 2.9 kilometers, you’ll find the hot spring on the left side of the road.
From Local Tradition to Tourist Destination
Before it was developed into a formal tourist site, the hot spring was already well known and used by local residents. People would come to bathe and bring their own buckets and dippers to collect water from the small natural pools by the river.
In 2014, the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) of Wagir Lor Village took the initiative to develop the area into a hot spring tourism destination. Several pools were built in various sizes and temperatures, ranging from 30 to 70 degrees Celsius. The smaller pools contain hotter water directly from the source, while the larger pools have lower temperatures, making them more suitable for relaxing soaks.
